This Year

 This year one of my favorite moments was I went to camp. I think the big day out will be either at Zelandia or that bird sanctuary. I would not like it to be anyone of those again. I have never had a great time on big day outs but the coolest thing about them is being surrounded by your friends.     

Next Year

I am very sad about next year because I am moving to America. When I go back to America I will go back into the same school I came from for the rest of their year and then another year after that. Some things I am looking for would to is seeing my old friends and seeing my family. Some things that will be challenging is the homework and how much there will be. I will constantly be doing homework and have to remember what class to give what homework into. I will all miss everyone I have met and I will never forget anyone!!!  

Book Week

 Last week we had Book character day and on that day we had Book Character parade. I loved the parade because I got to see all the different characters. I especially loved the little kids costumes because they were so cute. I also loved seeing what people came up with to wear. 

Also in the same week we had a thing called golden ticket finding. That meant that the teachers hid the tickets and then they posted the pictures on the blog and then we had to go and look for them. The most fun bit was when he posted them because everyone was running out the door and then sprinting to were they thing it is. I was lucky because I found a ticket and got a chocolate.  

Last but not least the book quiz. The book quiz was a fun time because everyone was trying to see how much questions that they could get on there own. I personally thought the little kids were very cute when the house captains were doing there quiz, because they were constantly laughing.  

Hungry Caterpillar

When I was little I was obsessed with the story The Hungry Caterpillar. The story is about a caterpillar that is getting ready to go into being a butterfly and he is hungry so he eats all these different foods and fattens up and then turns into a butterfly. I was about 4-5 when I started reading it with my parents and then from 6-8 I have read it as well. I love how he eats all these different foods and the colors that are in the book. 

AFL

Afl went all right for me. I learned pretty much everything they taught. I can't remember anything that they have said. The 3 things that i have learned about afl are that

• There is two middle posts and then there are two outer posts. 
• If you are tackled with the ball it is a hand over. 
• AFL means Australian Football League

My Favorite Movie

My favorite movie at the moment is Legally Blonde, because there is this girl and she likes this guy and they break up because the guy thinks she is to stupid to get married to. After he says he is going to law school she follows him and tries to get him back. When she is at law school she wins a spot on the debate team and helps solve a crime as well. I like this movie because it is funny and romantic sometimes. I think that you should watch it.  

Future Job!

My future job is to own a restaurant in Colorado America. It will be an american 80s themed with different kinds of food. The subjects i will be taking in college may be marketing and money manage meant. Things i can do out of school to help me get to my goal would be saving up money. If you had a choose to be a business owner would you pick it.  

Holiday Recount

These holidays I went to the top of the North Island. We got to Auckland airport and then got our rental car and then drove all the way to the De Wits house which we stayed there for the night. In the morning we and a big breakfast and then we went on there trampoline. After being on the trampoline for 2 hours we all got our shoes on then we all went to the beach and then got ice cream.

When we were all done with all of packing the car and saying our good byes my family went and drove 3 hours to were we were going to be staying.When we got to Pahia we got into our hotel and then watched the movie Million Dollar Arm and then my mom went out and then got Indian food for dinner. Once we had dinner we all went to bed.

In the morning we woke up 7:15 to catch the bus to Cape Reinga and to 90 Mile Beach. It was a very long day of driving and it took 12 and a half hours round trip. we had to keep stopping so people did not get car sick. when we got to 90 Mile Beach we all got to go by the and we kept making  get in the water and the water made the windows very salty so it was very hard to take pictures from inside.

After the 90 Mile Beach we drove to a bunch of sand duns and we went down them on boggy boards. after that we stopped for lunch at 3:10 and had fish and chips. When we were done with our lunch we all went back to Pahia. We went out to dinner.

We got back from there and after we packed up ll of our stuff we got in to our shuttle and flew back to Wellington.



     

ART WEEK

This is my favorite art that I did. I liked how we had to blend the colors and then it looked really cool when we put the silhouettes on it. 

This piece of art is my favorite art from a  different class. I like it because it looks really effective.  I liked the raping paper on it.

Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol is famous for his colorful paintings. Andy Warhol's movement was pop art and he was very good at it. His most famous piece is Marilyn Monroe. I like his work because it is colorful and bright.  

Regional Sports

We are going to the Regional Sports fest. The one thing I am looking forward to is playing with my friends. The sport I will be playing is Netball. I think I can help my team by playing my best. the sports fest went ok. The results we got was that we lost every game except for the last (which was the easiest). I helped my team by encouraging others and helping people in need. The venue and the organisation was nice but windy but is was tolerable. I don't have any suggestions that they would use.  

Flags

The flag I like the best is the white and black fern. I like how the colors go together. The reason I think ( now this is my opinion and you might have your own) we should change the flag because i think we should just have New Zealand not Britain (but remember that is my opinion).  I do not have any reasons why not to change the flag.   

Art

 The sort of art I like to do are painting. Skills I would like to improve on are shading. Our class have cool and good ideas. 

Who I Would Invite To Dinner

The people that  I  would invite to dinner are Lorde and Chloe from Dance Moms. 

The questions I would ask Lorde:

• What do you like about being a female singer? 
• What made you think you wanted to do singing for the rest of your life?
• What is you favorite food/ and least favorite food and why?
• Can you get me some free tickets?

The questions I would ask Chloe:

•  Who is your favorite girl and dance mom (it can not be you or your mom?)
•  What is your favorite hobbies when you are not dancing and why?
•  What is your favorite tumble you have to do in general? 
•  If you were stuck on an island and you had 5 things what would they be and why? 

Family

When I was in America last all my family went to my uncles big lodge and we all went fishing, some of us went water skiing and some of us like me went tubing. After that we all went in and had dinner all together. We  were there for 5 days it was a good bonding time with my cousins.   

Holidays

In the holidays I went to two programs and they were both very fun. One of them was R.A.S.C. The other was El Rancho.

  

 R.A.S.C. is a program they hold at Raroa and we did a lot of fun stuff like we went to the movies twice and we went to the mall twice and laser strike bowling + laser strike.

El Rancho was so amazing we did so much fun stuff like spotlight, canteen, team building day, and so much other stuff. There was also a lot of religion in it as well like we had time when we just sung are lungs out and there was other times were we were just in are cabin groups and had quiet time to reflect on the word of god.

Overall my holiday was awesome. Will I see you there next time if you choose to take that choose well I hope I do.  

Nairnville

I have enjoyed doing gymnastics and playing soccer. i have learnt how to balance on a beam and be able to do that routine.  i have been pushing my self when we were doing the beam routine. I think in stead of just being ball games like soccer and rugby why not be doing dodge ball and netball.

German

My German lessons have been very boring and I don't think that I will keep going on when I go to German college. The things that I have learnt is that instead of w you say v. I plan to take French  in college. Knowing a little of German can help you if you go to Germany one day.

School values

This week I have demonstrated the value of Empathy because I helped a little kid when he fell down in the playground and had been brought up to the First aid with a cut knee. the value I think is the easiest t do is Empathy because you can show Empathy in many ways. Creativity is the hardest for me because I like everything to look spot on and never messy except my desk.

Wonder

August is about a boy who has a deformed face and he has problems with people looking at him. When his Mom and Dad say it is time to go to middle school August is scared and frightened, but after having some friends August finds that middle school is not that bad. What I liked about the book was that he was brave and strong thought the hard times. I recommend this book for year 7 and  up because there is some sad stuff in the book.    

Galapogas Islands

The things that I have learned about the Galapagos Islands is that there are many different types of species of marine iguanas on different islands for e.g. there are pink iguanas on Wolf Island. the other things that I have learned that are linked to my Galapagos islands is the tortoises always try to cross that volcano pit and always fail and die which I find sad. I think we should learn history about a different place other then New Zealand.     

Responsibilities

This year I have taken on the responsibilities of being a first aid monitor. I have helped a lot of kids from cuts to bruises and sometimes sprains. I have definitely enjoyed doing this job and I love helping others who are hurt or sad. I have learned that if you have a kid that is feeling sick get out of there and go get Coralie.  What I have found hard,  is if you have to rap up someone's leg you have to have them hold the rapping so it does not take you 3 minutes to rap them up. I think there is no changes that need to be made and I think that first aid should stay the way it is.  

ASB Financial Literacy Lesson

Today we had the ASB Financial Literacy lesson. I really liked it because the guy was really funny and fun. The lesson taught me that there are different  kinds of cards that have different money plans, like the Eftpos card that is your own money that you are spending and with a credit card it is the bank's money. One of my financial goals is to buy my own Nike Pros and a new camera. I think that I manage my money very well and that I am very close  to getting the Nike Pros. I don't think that I need to do anything in the future other then keep saving money.  

Mission Fair

The Mission Fair was a hit for my stall because we were really busy the time, we always had at least one person always buying. We also had a great team that worked together . I think that maybe we could of had more cups, spoons, straws, and toppings , but overall I thought our stall was a hit in money.

Anzac Day

This Anzac day we went to the pulse game and for a minute they played the trumpet. What I have learnt about WW1 is that it was not easy to devote the rest of your life to the army or came back alive but that did not usually happen and it touched me  because I had never thought about it that  much until now.  It was very big this anniversary and it really made me think how horrible it really was to have to go off to the war and have to think that I might never come back and see my family again. I think it is a great idea because it makes kids remember that it was a horrible and hard time to go through.

OPC

The most challenging thing for me was the high ropes because I got  a little frightened when I was up there and I sort of froze. What I found easy was the bridge jump because I go wharf jumping and I am used to the water. No it was not what I expected because when you look  at the photos of the year eights last year their  rooms were big and not small but obviously they were at the big camp. I would not of minded to be at the big camp I would of thought it was better even though we would of had a lot more jobs. My proudest moment was when I was on the high ropes and I did them instead of not doing it. My favourite moment was when I did the caving because I liked seeing the stalagmites and the wetas.  

Group work!!!

I think that the groups I have been in have great because we were working together very well and we got our work done. The thing that went well in all my groups I was in was that we shared the tasks and did not fight. There was nothing that did not go well. I think the quality of our work has been very good and the standard of our work was good to. I think that I can just encourage my group more the next time we have a group project.

What I have learnt

About the country :
The country I have done a poster and slideshow on is Pakistan and the thing I have learnt about them is that they have a 5000 dollar bill.
 
About the person :
The person I have learnt about is Lotte.  what I learnt was that she is allergic to nuts and eggs. When she has eats  them you have to she has to have  some medication. I have also learnt that you have to put the epipen in her thigh and wait ten second for all the medicine to come out of the epipen.   

 

Gymnastics

Right now I am very interested in gymnastics. I am interested in gym because in term 2 I will start display gym. I am looking forward to that.

Back to school

My first weeks of school have been good. The tasks have been easy to complete and sometimes fun. Some of my good points these weeks have been being able to sit on the chairs, being the leaders of the school, and having the Year 7s look up to us the Year 8s. There has been no really big challenges these weeks but hopefully that will stay that way. I would not like to change the school or our class in anyway. I think it is ok.
